How do you choose a pickleball paddle for beginners?

it’s recommended to look for a good balance of control, comfort, and power. Choose a comfortable, well-balanced paddle that allows you to develop your technique and control of the ball, rather than focusing only on hitting power. Consider the paddle’s weight, core thickness, size of the sweet spot, grip feel, and playing style.

What’s the difference between a 16mm paddle and a 20mm paddle?

The choice between a 16mm and a 20mm paddle should be based on the player’s playing style and personal preference. Pickleball paddles that are 16 mm thick are a popular choice among players looking for a balance of different capabilities, and can suit a wide range of playing styles depending on the paddle’s construction and materials. A thicker paddle, such as a 20 mm paddle, will provide a softer, more stable feel and place greater emphasis on ball control and precise play.

How does the paddle weight affect the game?

The weight of a pickleball paddle affects reaction speed, maneuverability, power, and feel during shots and play. A lighter paddle generally allows for quicker hand movement and can make it easier to react quickly at the net. A heavier paddle offers more stability and momentum on shots, but may require more effort over time, making it more suitable for experienced players. The best paddle for you is one that lets you maintain control and comfort throughout the game, in keeping with your playing style.

What’s the difference between outdoor and indoor pickleballs?

Outdoor pickleballs are generally made of a harder, more durable material and have smaller holes to better withstand wind and outdoor surfaces. Indoor pickleballs are usually softer and lighter, with larger holes, making them suitable for play on indoor surfaces.
